    Good evening,

    I serve on the board of a Non Profit Organisation called Protective Behaviours Southern Africa.

    I regret to say that I changed a setting on our website (http://www.pb.org.za) that has now created the error as noted in the subject line.

    I was unable to upload images (kept on receiving an ‘http error’) and when I read up about it in a help forum, someone mentioned that they changed their settings from http to https. I duly went onto settings and changed it, which has resulted in me now being unable to access the WordPress CMS or the live web address.

    I have tried reaching a previous board member who originally set the website up for the organisation, but I have had little success.

    Can anyone please assist or advise what steps I need to take to restore the original website.

    That is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    With that said, your site is not loading over HTTPS because you don’t have a valid SSL certificate. To change that, simply acquire one through your hosting provider (consult their documentation for specifics).

    WordPress.org will only be able to help you with issues regarding the WordPress software you used to build that site.

    For help setting up SSL, please contact your hosting provider directly as staff-blorbo suggested above, as that has to be configured on your server on their end.
