http://domain.com vs. www.domain.com

This is an extension to this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/httpdomaincom-vs-wwwdomaincom?replies=3
My domain seems to automatically redirect to http://domain.com from http://www.domain.com. But I would like it to stay at http://www.domain.com. Is this possible?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not at wordpress.com. WordPress.COM does not map to the subdomains, and www is not used much anymore by anyone.
-
Not sure if I agree with that (cnn.com, nytimes.com, apple.com all redirect to the www variant, not the other way around), but that’s okay. Thanks for the quick answer.

That is because they have had the www in their URL’s since the late 80’s or early 90’s. It is a matter of branding for those people.

I was about to make t he same post. I do have another question though. When submitting your site/blog to Google, is it better to submit as:
http://domain.com
OR
http://www.domain.comIs there a difference? TIA.
-
Submit it as the URL that you set up for your blog. If you included the www, then include the www when you submit. If it does not include the www, then do not include it. At wordpress.COM, all custom domain names will NOT have the www, so always make sure and submit the non-www URL.

I have a WP blog hosted built into my existing website.
Both the website and WP are hosted by GoDaddy.
I just realized that my WP blog URL is setup in the WP settings as a http://domain.com whereas the rest of my website is setup as a http://www.domain.com.
This poses a problem for me as far as SEO consistency goes.
My question is, how do I change or edit my WP URL to be a http://www.domain.com like the rest of my website without screwing it up? -
1) Please don’t hijack threds.
2) See http://wordpress.org/support/ We can only help users who use wordpress.com blogs.

@dreamsburnred
– sorry to re-hijack the thread, but this is the first listing on google for the problem arkman2 had. I came here, thought I found the solution and then you put a kibosh! on the answer. Since the thread is 2 weeks dead anyway I’m stealin’ it.
@arkman2 and anyone else experiencing the same problem
– I was digging around deep in the wordpress files looking for an answer and then I figured maybe I should login to the admin interface. Duh.
– Just go to the settings tab (left hand nav, very bottom)
– change the two fields : word press address (URL) and blog address (URL) from
http://domain.com/blog to http://www.domain.com
problem solved.
