Huge image does not handle
-
Hello there,
On one of client site has one issue with images resizing after upload. Usually wordpress creates few different images sizes (on my site is defined 150×150 300×300 and 1024x1024px). This image which does not have smaller size is 8256x6192px !!!
Can this be a problem?
Can I force client to use smaller images?
I already add in code to use img src define by size of screen and there I do not get this resized image (because is not resized on smaller pieces).Best regards,

Hi there,
Of what site are you speaking? The site at https://limeddotba.wordpress.com/ only has demo content on it, and hasn’t been updated in almost a year.
If the site was built using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org, please ask in https://wordpress.org/support/ instead
That said, WordPress does not create different image sizes. Image files are uploaded at exactly the same size as they are stored on your computer. The image sizes in media settings are preset values at which the image can be displayed in a post, but they do not resize the actual image in any way.
If you want to resize an image, you need to do that using photo editing software on your computer before you upload the image to the media library:

No it is not that site, I will keep site secret but this is how it look uploads/year/month folder:
FCB_Fanreise_Istanbul-5.jpg 960x1280px size: 263KB
FCB_Fanreise_Istanbul-5-150×150.jpg resolution: 150x150px size: 9KB
FCB_Fanreise_Istanbul-5-225×300.jpg resolution: 225x300px size: 20KB
FCB_Fanreise_Istanbul-5-768×1024.jpg resolution: 768x1024px size: 116KB
Product_in_use_Smartphone_back.jpg resolution: 8256x6192px size: 2886KBImage “Product_in_use_Smartphone_back.jpg” does not have his smaller images which are defined in Media!!! That is what I talking about!
I saw few of this huge images (about 8000px resolution) that does not have smaller images. Of course this images are added oved Media, they are not uploaded over FTP.
Why was happen? I asking you.

WordPress.com does not arrange files in the media library in folders according to year and month, so if you see folders like that in the media library you are using the self-hosted version of WordPress, not WordPress.com, and we cannot help you here.
If you see images with a 8000px resolution in the media library, it means they were uploaded at that size from the computer they came from. I nowhere mentioned FTP. If you upload a 8000px image using the Add Media button, the image will still be 8000px in the media library.
If you want the image in the media library to be smaller, you need to resize it on your computer before you upload it to the media library.
