hyperlinks open in new window

    This recent update is causing us so much more work for us as we always set links to open in a new window. There is no way to default them to always do this (was told not available by support) and now instead of just ‘toggling’ the link on to open in a new window, we have to save the link, click edit, then advanced, then check the box to have it open in a new window. Anyone find a work-around to default this behavior?

    This seems to be the default behaviour after a recent wordpress update. But as already mentioned by Staff, engineers are working to simplify this.

    Thanks @staartmees — I can confirm. They’re debating how best to allow more link options and encourage accessibility while keeping this option accessible to site owners.

    @debrahorn, with your site being on a Business Plan that supports extra code and plugins, I’m sure if you want every link to open in a new tab every time, we could probably find a way to make that happen. Let us know what you have in mind for the site and we can advise.
