I accidentally signed up for site mapping

  I signed up for site mapping when I created my account because I thought it would allow me to use a domain name that I have already purchased. I paid $13 for the site mapping charge, and then realized that instead of being kathaney.com, wordpress had created my site as kathaneydotcom.wordpress.com.
  I don’t understand what site mapping is, can I get a refund on that charge, and add my own domain name some other way?

  I’m seeing http://kathaney.com/ point to WordPress.com just as you wanted (which is what Domain Mapping is for).

  So it looks like you got it all sorted out. Is there anything else I can help you with?
