I already own a domain for my website
-
I already own the domain for my website, but when i signed up for WordPress it defaulted me to a wordpress.com domain. I eventually want to change this to reflect the domain I already own, but I don’t know if i want to use a wordpress website for my domain. I would like to create a trail site to present to the business owner to give approval, and then we would need to fire our current website management company and change the domain over to the new WordPress website.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

And why is the post above saying I need help with a blog??? I didn’t sign up for a blog, I want to create a full website for a business. Is there really no WordPress support to contact directly – does everything have to go through a forum? I’ve been on WordPress for 10 minutes and I’m already thinking about switching to something else. . .

Hi there,
Do you want to have the site here on WordPress.com, or do you want a self-hosted WordPress installation? You can create a business website here, we even have a detailed tutorial on how to do it, but depending on exactly what you want to do you might need the other version of WordPress:
WordPress.com and WordPress.org
All WordPress.com sites have a free address. That’s how WordPress.com works. You can add a custom domain or a domain mapping upgrade as part of one of our paid plans that will hide the free address, but the free address still has to exist for your site to exist.
To map a domain you already own, go to My Site ->Plans and add the plan you want. Then go to My Site ->Domains ->Add and select the Map It option.
Use a Domain You Already Own (Domain Mapping)
There is no way to connect your own domain without upgrading.
You can find a tutorial for creating a business website here:

Note that you can do this on a free site with the free domain. But if you want to use any paid features like custom CSS or advanced SEO settings, you’ll need to purchase the applicable plan.

All our plans include access to live chat and email support. Free support is provided in our community forums.

If you want to go with the self-hosted version of WordPress, note that the software is free, but you will still need to pay a hosting provider to host the site for you. Cost there varies greatly depending on both the host and the hosting plan you choose. You can find some more information on hosting here:
