I am not being allowed to register with a domain from a different company

I created a new wordpress account, and I picked a domain from a different hosting company to register my account but I am being required to pay for a domain and hosting I already own from a different hosting company. How do i go about this?

I am already paying for hosting somewhere else and I am being required to make another monthly payment. Not fair -
If you are already paying for hosting elsewhere, you don’t need to set up a site on the wordpress.com platform. Instead you must install the open source wordpress.org, https://wordpress.org/
