I am on a free trial and wish to cancel but link to cancel upgrade not working

am on a free trial and wish to cancel but link to cancel upgrade not working. I started trying to cancel yesterday, but the ‘cancel upgrade’ button link is not working.

I only have 5 days left in the trial before my credit card is charged $99 . I’m not seeking a refund because I have not been charged anything. I simply want to cancel the blog/website so I will not be charged the $99. I’ve made 5 attempts to cancel with no success at that cancel upgrade page

Yes, i’ve read the info about the domain I registered and know I won’t be able to switch it for 60 days but i’d like to cancel that as well if I can.

Please help me cancel this upgrade. Thank you for your help !

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi!

Happy to help you remove the Premium bundle. I went ahead and disabled the auto renew option so you won’t be charged automatically. Just to clarify:

Yes, i’ve read the info about the domain I registered and know I won’t be able to switch it for 60 days but i’d like to cancel that as well if I can.

Would you like to continue using the domain coursecapsule.com at either WordPress.com or at another host? If so, the easiest thing to do would be to keep the domain at WordPress.com. During the first 60 days when you’re unable to transfer it, we can help you use it elsewhere by changing the nameservers. After 60 days, you can transfer it if you would like. If we cancel the domain, it can take several months to become available again for registration.

Can you let me know if you’d like to keep the domain on your account?

You were my first experience with WordPress customer service and I must say i’m happily impressed with your work and thank you so much for removing the premium at this time.

Yes, I would like to continue to use the domain . All my websites are hosted at YOLA.com and I had been buying all my domains at Godaddy. I would love to be able to use the coursecapsule.com domain at my Yola account and then after 60 days transfer it to Godaddy where all the rest of my domains are.

Because I’m so familiar with my way around the site builder at Yola, I feel to be able to get that domain working and productive before fall, I need to stick with it ..BUT…i actually bought some training to get going on WordPress and seriously plan to launch WordPress for sure by the end of December going into 2016, especially now that i’m sold on YOUR customer service !

Thanks again for your quick help, advise and direction. Let me know what I need to do please to switch the nameservers to Yola and then after 60 days , transfer to Godaddy.

    Doug.

No problem Doug! I definitely understand. I went ahead and removed the Premium bundle from your account. You will not be charged for this moving forward.

I left your domain intact. You should see it here:

    https://coursecapsule.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

I also created a manual payment request for the cost of the domain ($18). You should receive that by email. Please let me know if you have any trouble making the payment!

Now, for using your domain elsewhere – currently, it looks like you have unlocked your domain. You can see that by clicking Edit Domain -> Transfer Domain here:

    https://coursecapsule.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

We’ll want to lock the domain again until 60 days from the purchase date when we want to transfer it. Just click “Enable Domain Locking.” Once that’s done, we need to point the domain to Yola. Per this support doc, it doesn’t look like Yola uses name servers:

    https://www.yola.com/tutorials/article/What-are-Yola-s-Name-Servers-1285944418932/Publishing_domains_and_email

So, instead of using name servers, we’ll point an A record to Yola’s IP address as specified here:

    https://www.yola.com/tutorials/article/Publish-to-a-domain-you-already-own-1285944418365/FAQs

    To do that, start here:

    https://coursecapsule.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

Click “Edit Domain” and then “Edit DNS”. You’ll want to set it up just like this and click “Add”:

    http://d.pr/i/17m5w

The IP address is 184.72.229.176. Can you give that a try?

    Jeremey-
Two words…You’re good, ( actually, let’s make it three words) YOU’RE VERY GOOD !

Seriously, your detailed instructions took me to inside the back office of WordPress that I thought I would never emerge alive again from but thanks to your help, i’m a happy customer and you’ve made WordPress a good feeling for me . I will start moving all my sites over in the fall now for sure, knowing the customer service is excellent .

    Thanks, Sir…..

Great Doug! Glad we got this worked out. I received your manual payment so we’re all set on that front.

I checked the domain coursecapsule.com, and it doesn’t seem to be working quite yet. It looks like the “www” version of your domain is set as the canonical domain (when I load coursecapsule.com, I get redirected to http://www.coursecapsule.com). Did you set that up at Yola? If so, you may want to change to the root domain (coursecapsule.com). That way, we can use the root domain and setup a redirect from http://www.coursecapsule.com to coursecapsule.com. Having a canonical domain like this helps search engines know which URL to list as the primary one for your site.

If you end up going that route, you’ll want to add a CNAME record like this:

    http://d.pr/i/1dtSj

Again…thank you. I followed your directions carefully ( this time….:) ) and I think we got it. Your screen shot of the CNAME saved my bacon or I wouldn’t have gotten it. I tested the site and it’s working beautifully now both the www and just “coursecapsule.com” so, we’re there !

I appreciate your great help !
    Doug.
