I cancelled my account back on 11/20/19. I received an email that the account was closed. WordPress charged me $114 on 12/20.

    Please refund my credit card promptly for $114. How can you charge a renewal on an account on 12/20 that was closed on 11/20? How can you charge an account that was expired? How can you charge me for a WordPress account where I did not even have a site that I could find, when I went in to cancel. Billing receipt #42425369.

    I’m sorry to hear you are having trouble. Let’s see what we can figure out.

    First off, I’m not seeing any upgrades associated with the WordPress.com user account you are posting from. The two most common reasons for this are:

    1. You ended up with a second WordPress.com user account at some point and that account is the one that purchased the upgrade. In order for us to look into the situation, you would need to find the login to that account and contact us after logging in. If you happen to know the URL of ths site you were canceling, sharing that with us can often help us track down the account.

    2. You had a website built with the WordPress software but hosted with another webhost (Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc). WordPress.com and the WordPress software are related, but separate entities. http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    We at WordPress.com can only assist with sites hosted on our servers. We cannot help with WordPress sites hosted with other webhosts. You would need to contact your webhost’s support/billing team. Again however, if you can provide us with the URL of the site that you were trying to cancel, we often can point you in the right direction.

    I am not able to sign into anything on WordPress. I can only sign in to get her with my Google account. I have NEVER signed up with any other web provider or hosting site. I only created a site with WordPress and never went any further. The name of the sight was Prayfor18. I have nothing but difficulty when trying to deal with WordPress. There is no assistance other than this community, and normally, they are unable to help me. I simply want EVERYTHING TO DO with WordPress completely cancelled and refunded. I have not signed up for any other services other than the one that I had cancelled on 11/20.
    Here is the email that I received on 11/20 stating that it was cancelled. Please refund my account or else I will be forced to charge it back on my credit card.

    You are receiving this email because you closed your WordPress.com Account – “jackiesuzyq”.

    Your account has been closed and sites that you owned have also been deleted, the content will be removed after 30 days.

    If this action was accidental or you have any questions please let us know by replying to this email.

    The site https://prayfor18.com/ belongs to a different WordPress.com account, not the one you’re logged in to.

    You can recover access to that account following the steps at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

    Once you have recovered access to the account, you can cancel and refund the charges at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases

    And, once that has been done, you can close the account following the steps at https://en.support.wordpress.com/close-account/

    Please understand that we cannot simply cancel paid products or close accounts simply because a different account is asking us to. We consider this a security issue and take that matter very seriously.
