  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

  WordPress.org itself is entirely separate from your site and from WordPress.com, so if you’ve never logged in there, you’ll need to register for an account first.
