I cannot seem to "follow" a blog

  I signed up because I want to follow a blog. I signed up under wordpress.com. I do not want to blog, just want to subscribe to one. After looking at things closely, they are on wordpress.org??? I put them in the “search” category to follow and it doesn’t do anything. Plus in my profile it continues to tell my that I’m not following any blogs…..I WANT TO but how????
