I can't access the pages in the drop down menus on a touchscreen
-
My wordpress blog has drop down menus under the main menu headings on the home page. Usually these are accessed by hovering over the main menu items with a mouse, then going down the drop down menu to access the pages there. When I try to do this on a touchscreen (my Nexus 10 and 7) it is nearly impossible to access the pages in drop down menu as it goes directly to the main menu page and the drop down menu disappears. What can I do to make the drop down menu stay?

It’s pretty much impossible to mimic a hover action on a touch device, which is why i’d recommend using the mobile theme with the theme you’ve chosen, and it looks like you’ve enabled that already.
Some themes have a different way of handling this without the mobile theme, like Twenty Twelve, but not Skylark.

So does that mean that you can’t access the underlying pages properly on any wordpress blog on a touchscreen?
-
You can, it just depends on which theme you use. For example, Twenty Twelve has a wonderful way of handling this without the need for the Mobile theme.
As mentioned, Skylark doesn’t handle this all too well, so you should use the Mobile theme instead.
