I can’t access the Site Editor on my site

I can’t access the Site Editor on my site harbourvoicescommunitychoir.wordpress.com — every attempt gives a ‘page does not exist’ error, including via wp-admin. Jetpack appears to be disconnected. How can I fix this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It sounds like your site has lost its connection to the WordPress.com‘Calypso’ interface, which is why you’re seeing a ‘page does not exist’ error even when trying to access the local /wp-admin area. Since Jetpack is showing as disconnected, the primary ‘bridge’ for the Site Editor is down. To fix this, try accessing your dashboard through the direct ‘Recovery Mode’ by adding ?itsec_disable_distraction_free=1 or ?setup=1 to the end of your URL to bypass the redirect. Once in, you’ll need to navigate to the Jetpack settings and select ‘Reconnect’. If you still can’t get in, you should contact WordPress.com Support directly; since your site is hosted on their servers, they can run a ‘Sync’ or ‘Reset’ on their end to restore the connection to the Site Editor without you losing any content.

Hello! It looks like you are assigned the role of Editor on the harbourvoicescommunitychoir.wordpress.com site. Editor’s can access content, like posts, pages, comments, categories, tags, and media, but they cannot access the features that affect the design of the overall site. This is why the site Editor option doesn’t appear on your dashboard. You can see the privileges allowed for each role here: https://wordpress.com/support/invite-people/user-roles/

If you need access to the Site Editor, you can ask the site owner to change your role following the instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/invite-people/manage-users/#change-a-user-s-role

@paulinejenkins Thanks for replying! Just to clarify, this is a free WordPress.com site, so it has Jetpack built in, and cannot get disconnected. For this reason, we have advised kevin200brown to reach out to the site owner as their best course of action for this specific website.
