I can't change the nameserver.

I’m moving to a github page, so I need to change the nameserver to github’s. I go to Store>My Domain>Nameservers, I make the appropriate changes, I get a message that says “Success! The Name Servers for this domain have been updated. Please sit tight while these domain changes propagate around the world. (This can sometimes take up to 72 hours.)” But as soon as I close the settings panel and open it back, everything is returned to the way it started. Why? How do I really really change the name server?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • What are the nameservers you are trying to switch to?

Github’s nameservers: 192.30.252.153 and 192.30.252.154 as indicate here

  • Okay, so those are IP addresses and not nameservers. So if you were entering them in the nameserver fields, that is why they wouldn’t save.

You need to set an A-Record. We have instructions for doing so here:

Point a Domain to an External IP Address

Take a look through that page and let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll be happy to help.
