I can't export one of my blogs – and it's always worked before

  I’ve exported my blog numerous times without a problem. I’ve tried making a routine backup on my own computer and got the following error message:
  ‘Firefox can’t find the file at [big long filename]
  Check the filename for capitalisation or other typing errors
  Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.

  I can’t do either of those things as the filename is generated automatically by the Export command. As I say, I’m doing everything exactly the same as before and am mystified.

  I have other WordPress blogs and they exported fine. Help!

  Sorry about that! This happens when the export gets too big. Browsers can’t handle the file. I’ll send you an email with a download link in a few minutes. :)

  Too big – ooh dear! Thank you so much, guys, I now have my download!
  Should I try clearing out redundant material such as pictures from posts that I’ve retired? And old headers? Would that reduce the file size so I don’t have to ask again next time I want to back up my blog?

  Our export files actually don’t include the full images, so removing images won’t affect the size. Its more about the number of posts and pages. Once you get over 500 we sometimes start to see issues with the exporter. The browser can’t handle the transfer of data the way the exporter works on your end.

  As an aside, when I was checking how many posts you have I noticed that you’re using a ton of tags on your posts. If you have more than 15 tags and categories, we won’t show your post under the Reader tags. So, its a good idea to focus your tags so that users can easily search for your content.
