I can't get my blog to show summarized blog posts.

  I cannot get my blog post page to show summarize blog post. They (blog post) as show as full posts. I want to change the current view to a summary view. I have checked the help section looking for directions, but did not find anything helpful. I am currently using the “Nishita” theme. Any ideas or directions would be helpful.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there!

  On your blog, you can display summaries by adding an Excerpt. This will allow you to control the actual excerpt that you see.

  Or you can add the More Tag. This will allow you the exact place you want to add the Read More link.

  I tried both those options actually. But nothing happens to the post. Not sure why it’s not even showing a change for that matter as well.

  Hi there!

  I just checked your two most recent posts, and I don’t see a More tag or an Excerpt in either of them. Can you direct me to the post that you added these to so I can see why they’re not working?

  When I originally edited my most recent post (titled “spring break”) I did a preview during edit using a more tag and it did not show. Even after I posted it. it still did not show as a summary. Then I tried again using excerpt and still no summary was seen. After multiple attempts and seeing no summary I totally gave up on the process. And I left the blog post as a full page article.

  I simply gave up for I felt it was not worth the constant effort for what should be a simple task.

  What’s even more disturbing is that when I changed my blogs theme from Parament to Nishita almost all of my adjustments (about 80% I would say) never appeared or could not be made. It was as if the original settings were locked and could not be adjusted to fit my new theme. So I had to re-think my planning to what is now the current look of my blog. Which I am currently fine with now.

  But in all honesty I am happy with the new look of my blog. For I did want a new look and feel for new and current followers too see and enjoy. Plus the new theme I am using (Nishita) is great for showcasing my photography work.

  And I have learned to like and accept my blogs new look.

  However… The process to get to this new style that I do really currently enjoy was a epic failure.

  You won’t see the effect of the More tag or Excerpt on the Preview page, or the page your sent to right after publishing. You’ll only see the summary on the recent posts page. That may have been the cause of some confusion. Let me know if you try using one of these options again!

  When you change your theme, your customizations don’t carry over, outside of your Custom Menus. Is that what you meant? However, if you change back to the Parament theme, you’ll see all of your previous customizations there.
