I can't log in to my wordpress.com blog as my email isn't recognised.

My usual browser – Safari 12.1.2 – is now not compatible with my WordPress.com free site, so I can’t log on using this browser which has the password + login shortcuts saved.
I’m trying to log in on Chrome instead, but the email address that should still be associated with the account (according to gravatar details this is still (email visible only to moderators and staff)) is coming up unknown to wordpress. I know the current password but I can’t get the login link emailed to me if the email isn’t recognised. I have an activation URL which is http://wordpress.com/activate/fb3f2cbfbead4185
This dates from 2009 when I started the site!
The above email address is a forwarder to my actual email which is (email visible only to moderators and staff), but when I tried to get an activation link sent to my hotmail it sent me the link to a different blog. It is the gilbertandsullivansociety blog I need to access.
I tried the Account Recovery form but it says “We could not find an account that matches your login.”
The site is still there and live and the ‘My Sites’ shortcut in the top left corner is still there, but I can’t access it to update it until this issue is resolved. Please help me!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The email address you listed definitely does not have an account here, but it is an email address attached to a Gravatar account, specifically the one you’re already logged in to.
If you’re trying to access https://gilbertandsullivansociety.wordpress.com/ you’re already logged in under the account which owns it, so you have full access and do not need to recover any account.

Thanks for the response, but I do not seem to have access to the ‘back end’ of the blog on Chrome.
When I open the blog it doesn’t show the Gravatar strip across the top of the browser with the ‘your sites’ shortcut on the left, which I always had on Safari, so I was always logged in.
When I try to log in to Gravatar on Chrome with my wordpress.com account, I am unable to. It says “User does not exist. Would you like to create a new account?” when I use the email address which is attached to the Gravatar account already.
Can you explain how I can log in ? -
Make sure, on Chrome, you’re logging in with the same username you’re logged in with here.
If it’s asking for an email address, make sure you use the one you can see here while you’re logged in at https://wordpress.com/me/account (it’s not the same email address you shared earlier).

The problem is I can’t see which email address is shown on https://wordpress.com/me/account, because I’m on the Safari 12.1 browser here.
Is it the one that begins with an ‘a’ or the one that begins with a ‘b’? I have tried both trying to log in to Gravatar on Chrome, and neither seems to work.

Stop press – I’ve tried with the username (as opposed to the email addresses) and that seems to have got me in ok now.I think I might be ok now – thank you for your swift replies!
