I changed my wordpres.com domain to another wordpress.com domain. Now I need to redirect traffick from the old domain to the new one

    Greetings,

    I changed my wordpress.com domain to another wordpress.com domain. Now I need to redirect traffic from the old domain to the new one. Or at least I need to be able to use my old domain to create a static page stating that the blog has been moved to a different address.

    At this moment every time someone (including me) enters the old domain, he or she receives a message stating that ‘the owners have deleted the blog’, when actually I have only moved it.

    We do have a redirect upgrade you can use, but the site would have to exist in order to do that. It can be set to private so that no one has access to it.

    What is the url of the deleted site? If it is less than 30 days since it was deleted, we can undelete it for you. If it is past 30 days the site is fully deleted and cannot be recovered. Did you by chance also delete that account it was on?

    Thank you for your quick reply. It has barely been a week since the old site was deleted (as a result of the domain/URL change)

    My old site was:

    http:\quiensebeneficiadetuhombria.wordpress.com

    My new site is:

    http:\hombresgeneroydebatecritico.wordpress.com

    I just changed the domain/URL from the first to the second. This means the content in the new site is actually the same content that was in the old site. Only the domain address (URL) was changed. I used the same account for both (my current account).

    I just hope I can redirect people from the old website or at least let them know that I moved.

    I have one question about the site redirect upgrade:

    Does it redirect the main website only, or does it redirect specific posts as well? For example:

    Would this page…

    https://quiensebeneficiadetuhombria.wordpress.com/2015/08/29/hacia-una-nueva-historia-de-las-relaciones-de-genero/

    …be redirected to this one:

    Hacia una nueva historia de las relaciones de género

    On the meantime, I will set up a static page to tell my readers I have moved and where can they find me.

    Hi masculinismohoy,

    If the same post URL exists on both sites (like the example you provided), visitors should be redirected to the equivalent post on hombresgeneroydebatecritico.wordpress.com.

    If the URLs are different, visitors will be redirected to hombresgeneroydebatecritico.wordpress.com (the main site) instead of an individual post.
