I deleted my own old account with username jenpoetess, but cannot use it yet still for this new account

  I am a journalist for a daily newspaper and we are switching to WordPress. I need my username to be @jenpoetess … I just delete an old account with that username created back in 2012. Can you help?

  Deleted usernames cannot be re-used, but if it’s within a month, you can recover the account by replying to the deletion confirmation email.
