I have a current site through blue host but cant get word press to recognize the url.

I have a current site through bluehost but am unable to get wordpress to work through that site. Maybe because it hasnt been published yet? I have downloaded word press on its own but can figure out how to get it to work with blue host.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet
