I have a domain name but have not yet designed my website. I want to design on wordpress first before adding my domain name

  You can start building your website on WordPress.com without needing to connect with your domain if you are not ready for that stage.

  Visit the link and choose the free option. You will get a free domain from WordPress.com and build your site on that free domain. You can even upgrade your plan if you wish to whilst using the free domain only to connect your custom domain when you are ready.
