I have a private site, but when I create a blog it is asking if I want private or public. Which do
-
If I’m set to a private blog… Do I also need to select private for each post?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Nope! Once your site itself is private only the people on your users list will be able to view any pages or posts on your site:

Interesting because I set my site to private, but when I posted and it asked me private or public, I just left the default public…. But, I’m getting funky comments made from people I don’t know to my posts. So, I’m not sure what is going on.

Okay, I went in and looked, (GASP) my account was set to public! This must have happened when I upgraded from the free account to the premium. I thought all my setting would stay, but I can see now that I didn’t know what I was doing.
I have now made my site private again and contacted my friends and family.
QUESTION – Do my followers have to have a wordpress account to make comments and view my site? -
I just took a look at your blog’s log and I’m not seeing a change to private before yesterday. If your site gets switched to public again, let me know and I can take another look.
QUESTION – Do my followers have to have a wordpress account to make comments and view my site?
Yes, if your site is public they will need a WordPress.com account to view it. And you’ll need to invite them here:
