I have an old site and now I can’t get the forwarding email option on my new site. When I go into My sites, the site I want to currently use does not have the ‘domain’ option to go into forwarding emails.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

To set up email forwarding on a WordPress.com site you first need to have a custom domain connected to the site. You cannot do it on a free address like http://spokeandpedal.wordpress.com/

The other site in your account, http://www.pedalspeaksandprosecco.com/, is a self-hosted WordPress site connected here via the Jetpack plugin. If you want to set up email on that site you need to do it at your hosting provider.

Jetpack allows you to manage certain aspects of the WordPress software for that site using your WordPress.com account, but email forwarding is not a feature of the software. It’s a service provided by us as a hosting provider, and we can’t provide that service for a site that’s not hosted on our servers.
