I have been waiting more than a week for someone to help me recover access
-
Recently, my site was downgraded to a free plan. I would like to access the content on the site/blog, but I have no idea what the password is – I usually used a link sent to my email address. Because I no longer have access to the email address associated with the site, this is no longer an option for me.
I have emailed proof of ownership to Support, I have emails from Nel in Support accepting this proof. I have provided an alternative email address for content recovery. But……crickets. I have sent three emails over the past three days asking for help, but have received none. The issue is now urgent. -
Hi @hklrkn,
I’m really sorry to hear you’ve been left waiting despite already providing proof of ownership and having it accepted by a staff member. That’s not good enough and I completely understand why you’re frustrated.
Since you already have a named contact in support who acknowledged your proof, the best move right now is to reply directly to Nel’s email thread rather than sending new separate emails. This keeps everything in one place and makes it much harder to slip through the cracks. In that reply make clear that it’s been three days with no follow up and that the matter is now urgent.
If that still gets no response, submitting a fresh contact request at https://wordpress.com/help/contact and referencing the previous correspondence with Nel, including the dates, should help escalate it. Mentioning that proof of ownership was already accepted is key as it means they don’t need to restart the verification process from scratch.
You can also review your options around account access and recovery here https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/ just in case there’s anything there that might help in the meantime.
You’ve done everything right here and you deserve a response. Hopefully this gets resolved for you very soon!
