I have changed my admin email inside my Word Press site control panel exactly 50 TIMES!!! It doesn’t recognize it!!

How do I get this stupid WP admin panel on my website to recognize that I’ve changed the admin email to MY email 50 times but when I try to log in it says that my admin email is NOT associated with my account HELPPPPPPP

I tried and tried and tried to change it to our company email address and I’d go back in and the change had never taken effect it was still an old defunct email of the web guy who built the site. Then after dozens of attempts, restarting the computer etc. it finally took effect. BUT when I try to get into WP it says that it is NOT the correct email which should be (email visible only to moderators and staff) (I have no access to the temp email that the site builder had in there. Thanks so much for answering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To clarify, what is the account name and current site address on the account you are trying to update the email on? From what you are describing, this may not be a WordPress.com hosted site. Just wanted to verify.

The site is: creativedjservices.com https://creativedjservices.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fcreativedjservices.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1 The user is: buckydj and the password (which I keep changing but never changes is: ![redacted by staff] My hosting company is Hostgator but I am trying to change the contact email etc. in Word Press (I am not a supersavvy computer guy … not even close)

This is a public forum, so you’ve just posted your password online where anyone with access to the internet can see it. We will never ask you for your password, and you should never post that anywhere online for any reason. Please make sure you update that as soon as possible.
Your site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software on Hostgator’s servers. We have no access to your site and no control over any aspect of it, including your login details. We can only help with sites hosted with us on WordPress.com.
If you’re having trouble updating either your email address or password for your admin account on the site, please ask for help at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ instead. Those forums provide support for the version of WordPress you’re using.
If you’ve never used the WordPress.org forums before, you’ll need to create an account before you can post there – neither the admin login for your site, nor your WordPress.com username, will work there.

Oh wow I wondered about that but in the note from Apr 28 above it asks me for it and says: What is the email address that you want to update your account to? You can provide the email in this thread – only staff will be able to see it. (I’ve tried to change it but it won’t change for me for some reason)

Only staff will see email addresses — our software redacts them automatically. But passwords are a very different story.

Thanks so much for the information! I’m guessing that you are the person who so very kindly updated my Word Press version to the latest? I paid a Fiverr guy to do it last week but I got a note that it was done so I’m thinking that you perhaps did that when you looked into my site and that is VERY kind of you and thank you SO much if you did!!!

We don’t have any control over self-hosted WordPress.org sites like yours, so we did not update anything, but WordPress.org itself does update automatically.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
