I have removed the blogroll from the widget are (side bar) after I deleted it

I have deleted the Links categories so all that is left is the word Blogroll. It will not let me delete that and I cannot get it off our page. I have also moved the Links Widget on the Widget page down to Inactive and it still shows up on our page. Very Frustrating.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I moved the Links Widget on the Widget page down to Inactive and it still shows up on our page. Do I have to delete it somehow? I have nothing showing on the sidebars. All the items are empty on the sidebar section of the Widget page. I can’t find where to remove Meta either.

Widgets in the Inactive Widgets box do not display on the blog. Clear your browser cache and cookies . http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
Click the widget to open it and then click “delete”.

Timethief: The link you provided helped. I had deleted the widgets, but I actually had to put a new on the sidebar before it would remove the other widgets. It talks about that in the link you provided. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/09/28/the-no-widgets-paradox/
It is interesting how it looks different in Safari vs IE. I am sitting here in front of two different computers with two different looks. Oh well.
And then that smiley face at the bottom of our page is driving me crazy. Time to research that to see what it is all about and how to get rid of it.
Thank you for your fast help!

Thank you! I guess I can change the background color to black. You have been very helpful!
