I JUST made a wrong blog transfer (I think?)

    Hi I made this blog wanted to get the domain for it after I created it. I then went through Bluehost and signed up with a new account there, and when I transferred it to what my username is on WordPress (through Bluehost) I think it transferred to someone with the same username, but signed up through WordPress…because when I try to log into WordPress with that username I created FOR WordPress (after I installed it through Bluehost) it won’t sign me in.

    I really need this to be undone, and want to know how I can transfer this blog, over to the account I made via Bluehost?

    Hi there,

    What is the URL of the site you need help with?

    WordPress.com sites and Bluehost sites have absolutely nothing to do with each other. WordPress.com and Bluehost use completely different versions of WordPress, and your WordPress.com account and Bluehost account have nothing to do with each other. So it’s not possible that you could have transferred anything from WordPress.com to Bluehost.

    If you have a site with Bluehost, the username you created for that site is completely separate from your WordPress.com username. Even if you used the same name, there is no connection at all between the accounts.

    For more help with that, please contact Bluehost support directly, as we don’t have access to your Bluehost site to help with this.

    Hi, thank you for your reply.

    The site I transferred was from my wordpress account (this account) not my bluehost one. I only brought up bluehost in order to explain why I transferred in the first place.

    Basically I need to undo a transfer (the one and only transfer I made on this account) because I was under the impression I was transferring to myself.

    I don’t see any evidence of a site transfer in your WordPress.com account logs. What is the URL of the site you transferred?

    I’ve sent an email to the address associated with your WordPress.com account.

    Though I should point out that site transfers are permanent, as was also stated in the warnings on the page where you did the transfer. If you transferred a site in your account, the site now belongs to someone else, and it can only be transferred back by the new owner, or at the very least with their permission, so there might not be anything more I can do.
