    I made a mistake in the username I created. I have not activated my account because I do not wish to use that username but it is the name of a website I am working on and would not like it to be permanently deleted. How ever I cannot change my username because the space to change it is grayed out and will not not allow me to click inside.

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi there!

    Certain settings are not available unless you confirm your account. Once you have verified your account, you should be able to change your username but, bear in mind that, once you do that, you will never be able to use bonsaipro on WordPress.com anymore.

    If you do not want your username to be visible to your visitors, you can change your display name instead:

    https://wordpress.com/support/change-your-username/.
