I need explanation for the differences in Interface.

    Dear all,

    I was using PIQUE theme for my website all along, for Onlykaisg.wordpress.com, up till a month back I purchased onlykai.com with GoDaddy. Honestly, the interface offered by GoDaddy sucks and im not sure what’s happening so here’s where I need help:
    Firstly, as a paid user under GoDaddy, it seems like im lacking lots more functions on WordPress. (Like PIQUE theme, I can’t upload site logo as compared to onlykaisg.wordpress.com ) Secondly, pages can’t be flexibly changed using page edit but instead I must go through beaver builder to edit pages? Please help with this as i’m gonna go mad soon with all the complications in creating just a simple website. Cheers !

    Hi there,

    You are using a completely different version of WordPress at GoDaddy. You’re using the open source version of WordPress, found on WordPress.org, rather than the modified, managed version we use here on WordPress.com.

    The WordPress.org software does not come with themes pre-installed as on WordPress.com. Any theme you want to use you first need to install on the site. If you log into WP-Admin and go to Appearance ->Themes, you can search for themes there. It should return results of all themes listed in the WordPress.org theme directory at https://wordpress.org/themes/

    You can also directly upload .zip folders for themes you downloaded elsewhere.

    Site logos are not built in on the open source version of WordPress, but is added by your theme, so you won’t see that option unless you use a theme that supports it.

    That sounds like a restriction of the page builder plugin you’re using. You’ll need to contact support for that plugin directly for help with that.
