I need help moving my subscribers

  • Unknown's avatar

Please I need help moving my subscribers from wordpress.com to a self-hosted wordpress blog. I followed the instructions, installed jetpack on my self-hosted site and connected to my wordpress.com blog, but I couldn’t find the “Move Followers From A WordPress.com Blog” link as described in the instruction.

    Please help.

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

Once you’re all linked up with Jetpack you can visit your blogs in WordPress.com:

    http://wordpress.com/my-blogs/

Under your new WordPress.org site, select Manage. In that pane, you’ll see a space to select a WordPress.com site to transfer your followers from!

Let me know if you have any trouble with that! :)

    Hi Shawna,

If I click on the link you provided above, it takes me to a list of my blogs. After locating the one I want (which is jet-pack connected), I clicked on ‘Manage’ but it only takes me to a list of the blogs I currently follow on my wordpress.com blog . I took a screenshot below. Thanks

So, you don’t see this panel when you click on Manage?

If not, I can manually transfer your subscribers, but I definitely want to figure out why you don’t see the management settings there!

    Hi Shawna,

    Thanks for your response.

No I couldn’t see that panel. Once I click on Manage, it takes me to a list of the blogs I’m subscribed to which is nothing like the image you just showed me.

I would really appreciate if you can manually help me do the transfer.

    Many thanks.

Thanks for following up about that! I’ll pass that on to our developers and have them check it out.

It looks like the DNS for your site is maybe not completely set up yet. Currently your Jetpack-linked site is poetoria.com/wp. If that’s the correct domain for your site, just let me know and I’ll transfer your followers, but if that’s not where you want your site to be long term, you should get that fully set up before I transfer your followers.
