I need isobeltaylor.com removed from the domain list so i may add wordpress.isob

  Hi,

  I am attempting to map my subdomain, wordpress.isobeltaylor.com, hosted at 1&1 to my wordpress blog using the blow guide.

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  However when adding the subdomain in the control panel i get the below error.

  “The domain name you entered cannot be added to this blog. Please try a different domain name.”

  I believe this is due to the control panel still thinking that the domain “isobeltaylor.com” still belongs to it….

  Can you delete this domain so that i can add “wordpress.isobeltaylor.com”?

  Hi there,

  You’re right — we still had your domain isobeltaylor.com in our system. Sorry about that! I removed it from our end, so now you can map your subdomain to your WordPress.com blog.

  Hi Rachelmcr,

  I am still unable to add the subdomain.. can you confirm if it needs to be pointed to your DNS and propagated before we add the subdomain?

  Please let me know if there are any other steps I am skipping here.

  Hi there,

  Sorry about that! I just noticed that you are using the instructions for mapping a full domain. Mapping a subdomain is a bit different — you don’t need to change your name servers. Instead, you’ll just need to create a new record for the subdomain at your domain registrar. We have instructions for that here: Map a Subdomain

  Hey Rachelmcr,

  That is the method I am currently using… I have the CNAME mapped however I still cannot add that subdomain to wordpress… This means that after the re-direct the users see isobeltaylor.wordpress.com and not wordpress.isobeltaylor.com.
