Blog With My Name – sumayaparuk.wordpress.comI don’t know if the blog is mine . Okay, this is a tad confusing :/ I logged on to WP and decided to delete my two blogs and get a new one with my name – unlike the other two. So, I tried getting it and WP said that the address is already taken. Then I go to my profile and see that I do own said address. Then I deleted both my other blogs… which worked perfectly fine until I decided to log in and start afresh with the [(email visible only to moderators and staff)] blog. To my surprise, I was still being logged in with my old blog!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The blog at sumayaparuk.wordpress.com isn’t linked to your username sumayaparuk1. The blog that’s currently linked to your username is this one, using a custom domain name: http://sumayaparuk.com/
You can manage that blog from your My Blogs page.

Before I deleted whoiswhotowho.wordpress.com, sumayaparuk.wordpress.com was showing in my blogs. After I deleted whoiswhotowho.wordpress.com, it disappeared. I had deleted whoiswhotowho.wordpress.com thinking that I would start with sumayaparuk.wordpress.com. When that didn’t work out, I bought a custon domain with a new username. So now sumayaparuk.wordpress.com is just floating somewhere in cyberspace :/
And its really good to actually receive replies – and timeously! Tons of other forums don’t,ever!

Since sumayaparuk.wordpress.com is linked to a different WordPress.com account (not your account with the username sumayaparuk1) you’ll need to log in to that account to manage it. If you need help with that, you can contact our account recovery team by filling out this form:

Hey Guys! I’m back…to worry you kind souls again! :P
So on a whim, I tried logging in with my old username “thehaaripoyri” and voila – it worked!! Then I changed my username to “sumayaparuk”, successfully! Now would it be possible to cancel my domain name on my username “sumayaparuk1” and use it with my username “sumayaparuk”?And once again, thanks very much! =)

I’d be happy to help you move your domain over. I just need a couple things from you:
1. Can you please log in with your username sumayaparuk1 and reply to confirm that you want to transfer ownership of your domain name sumayaparuk.com to the user sumayaparuk?
2. Would you like to transfer that entire blog to the user sumayaparuk? Or would you just like to transfer the domain name sumayaparuk.com to one of the blogs that the user sumayaparuk already owns (such as sumayaparuk.wordpress.com)?

So currently with username “sumayaparuk1”, I have a domain name sumayaparuk.com, which shows as sumayaparukdotcom1.wordpress.com on my dash.
With username “sumayaparuk”, I have 2 blogs – sumayaparuk.wordpress.com and sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com.
What I would like to do is transfer sumayaparuk.com to the user “sumayaparuk” and then to delete the username “sumayaparuk1” – forever.
And if my blog could show as sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com [without the numeral 1] on my dash would be really great!:)

Ok, I’ve moved the blog and domain at sumayaparuk.com to the user sumayaparuk. Right now, that domain is still linked to sumayaparukdotcom1.wordpress.com.
If you’d like the domain to be linked to sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com (so it shows the content that’s currently at http://sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com/ and shows as sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com in the dashboard) just let me know and I’ll make that switch for you, too. I just want to be sure you know that if I make that change, the domain won’t show the content or theme that’s currently at http://sumayaparuk.com/ so you’d need to set that up again on the other blog.

Is there way to export/backup sumayaparukdotcom1.wordpress.com and then import/restore it to sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com?
If there is, please reply – if there isn’t, go ahead and switch it. I’ll just have to start over :)

Sure thing! You can export the content from one blog by going to Tools > Export in the blog’s dashboard: Export
And then you can import it into the other blog by going to Tools > Import in that blog’s dashboard: Import
Please note that will only transfer the contents, not the theme and widgets on the blog. You’ll need to set those up again on the other blog.

Okay, so I’ve exported my blog successfully :) Can you kindly replace sumayaparukdotcom1.wordpress.com with sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com – in other words I don’t want the 1!

Just one more thing – how do I make sumayaparuk.com show as sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com on my dash?
Then I will work on sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com and delete sumayaparukdotcom1.wordpress.com :)

I’m not sure I understand. Your domain sumayaparuk.com is already linked to sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com, so what you see at http://sumayaparuk.com/ is linked to your dashboard at https://sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ . The changes you make to that dashboard will be reflected on your domain. :)

I managed to sort it out! What was happening was that, on username sumayaparuk both the blogs were showing i.e. sumayaparukdotcom.wordpress.com and sumayaparukdotcom1.wordpress.com. So when I was going to the dash for my domain, then sumayaparukdotcom1.wordpress.com was coming up.
So I deleted sumayaparukdotcom1.wordpress.com and now everythings alright!! =)THANKS SOOOO MUCH!! You have no idea how happy I am :)) Being a neat freak, I tend to want everything in perfect order, so I am just over the moon :P
