I need to renew my domain name but do not want to renew my premium subscription.

I can’t renew my domain without renewing premium. I need help so that I can have my domain name, but I did not find premium worth the money (for what I need for this site not in general) and don’t need it. I just need to renew my domain name, but that is locked/linked to the premium renewal. I tried canceling premium, even though it expired, and nothing changed.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I went ahead and removed the expired Premium upgrade from your account, so now you can renew your domain by itself from Store > My Upgrades in your dashboard.

Please be sure to renew your domain as soon as possible. There is a short window of time when you can renew your expired domain at the regular price, but after that grace period ends there is an added $80 late fee for renewal. You can read more about domain expiration here if you’re interested: Domain Expiration

If you’d like any further help with this, please let me know! :)

    Hi,

I just saw this response (in my junk mail -Univ. mail, ugh) so I missed the grace period. Is there any way to avoid the fee? Letting the domain go and waiting to re-register, etc.? I doubt anyone will be buying it -it’s not a very common name. And, an $80 fee seems ridiculous for a $13/yr service/product (which you can find for less elsewhere to begin with).

    Thanks!

    Meg

    Hi Meg,

I just sent you an email with more information about renewing your domain. You can reply directly to that email, or let me know here if you don’t get it from me. Thanks! :)
