I need to upload the theme

I have purchased a theme and I want to upload it. Why do I need business plan for this? That is ridiculous.

Hi there, before you can upload a custom theme to your WordPressdotcom site, you’ll need to have either the Business and Ecommerce plan on your site and add a custom domain. These plans come with a lot more features than just being able to upload a custom theme. You can learn about this in the following support guides:

https://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce-plan/If you don’t want to upgrade, another option is to host your website on 3rd party hosting, like Pressable or BlueHost, using the open source WordPress software which you can download and get support for at https://wordpress.org/
