I switched the nameserver to the WordPress nameserver, but nothing changed.

Hi team,
I previously built a website using the domain https://lazivoyage.com/ on another “WP hosting provider”. I have now completed moving all the content to a new WordPress site at https://lazivoyage.wordpress.com/. I want to use my custom domain for this new WordPress site.
I transferred the domain registrar (Google Domain) to WordPress and updated the nameservers to WordPress, but nothing has changed. The domain is still pointing to the old hosting provider.
When I try to add the domain to WordPress, I receive an error message: “This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.”
Could you please check if I made any errors in the process?
Thank you.

Hi there,
I can confirm lazivoyage.com is now registered on WordPress.com and also connected to your site lazivoyage.wordpress.com. However the DNS settings for the domain are not valid, and this is likely what you need to change.
Can you follow these steps;
- Visit this link; https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/lazivoyage.com/dns/lazivoyage.wordpress.com
- In the top right menu, click ‘restore default A records’ (see this guide for visuals; https://wordpress.com/support/domains/custom-dns/#default-records)
Your domain should then load your WordPress.com site.
Just a note, if you want your domain to be the Primary Address of your site, you would need a paid plan (any). Only paid plans can have a custom domain as the primary address. You can upgrade via Upgrades → Plans.

Hi team,
I noticed that the URL lazivoyage.com now points to my WordPress site. However, there’s an issue with the SSL certificate. Do I need to take any additional steps to obtain the SSL certificate for my website, or should I just wait?
Thanks.
