I think something went amiss

    I have a domain name already but don’t have a host yet. I tried just using my already purchased domain but it appears as if a new site was generated. How do I remove the new domain so I could work on my already purchased domain?

    Hi there,

    You need to first create a site with a WordPress.com address/domain before you can map and use the domain you already own.

    In order to use your domain hosted elsewhere with your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to change the domain nameservers at your domain host, and point them over to WordPress.com. Our nameservers are:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    Then, you’ll need to purchase the mapping subscription upgrade so that you can map your domain over to your WordPress.com site.
