I want a domain name that has expired but I cant select it

  Hi, I want a certain domain name but when signing up is said that it had already been taken. However following up that domain leads me to a page saying xxxxx.wordpress.com is no longer available / The authors have deleted this site.

  If this domain is no longer public, why can’t I select it when I want to start my blog?

  Any support would be appreciated.

  We do not reuse or reassign blog names on WordPress.com. Once a name has been used, it is unavailable for use again.

  However, we do offer an upgrade for custom domain names and you can use any WordPress.com blog URL underneath a custom domain. For more details about how domain mapping works, see this guide:
