    I HAVE A DOMAIN UNDER GODADDY, BUT NOW I OPENED A WEBSITE ON WORDPRESS SO I WANT TO KNOW IF I STILL HAVE TO PAY $96, BECAUSE I ALREADY OWN A DOMAIN.

    Hi there,

    If you own an existing domain elsewhere, whether you map or transfer your existing domain, you will need to purchase a WordPress.com plan. You would need at least the personal plan ($48/year) to use your domain with WordPress.com.

    The difference between mapping and transferring is who you want to host your domain. If you transfer the domain to WordPress.com, we’ll manage the domain. You’ll pay for the mapping and the plan here (domain is included within the plan price for the first year).

    But, if you keep the domain at your current host and map the domain to WordPress.com, you current host will continue to manage the domain and you’ll need to pay them for hosting your domain.
