I want the long URL with my domain name to be tweeted
-
When sharing an article by using the Twitter button, the tweet draft uses the short URL and @WordPress – we want the long URL and our domain name used not word press. FaceBook shows our domain properly but when tweeting directly from an article using the Twitter button, my readers have no clue it’s from my website by looking at the tweet. Thank you for your time and consideration in advance.

Hi there,
You can customize what Twitter username appears when someone uses the Twitter button under Settings > Sharing in your site’s dashboard. Next to “Twitter username to include in tweets when people share using the Twitter button” you can enter your Twitter username, and that will be used instead of the default username.
However, there isn’t a way to make the Twitter button use your full URL by default — the short URL is added there to keep things short, because of Twitter’s character limit. If you’re using that Twitter button yourself, you’re welcome to delete that short URL and replace it with the long one, if you prefer it and it fits there.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that!
