I want to add a closed section on my existing blog

I am running a blog about my home town. It’s open to anyone. I’ve now written a children’s novel based on the town. Can I put it in a separate free but closed section on the same blog or should I start a separate blog?

You have a couple of options:
1. You could publish it in a password-protected page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/2. Alternatively, you could create a new blog, set it to private, and invite users to view it:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
