I want to cancel the domain name and the site to start fresh.

  Good morning,

  I want to cancel the site including the domain name. I tried to cancel yesterday but there is also another site attached which I know nothing about or who did it. I may have but that was 7 years ago. I am ready to start fresh with a new domain name and get my site up and running but I can’t see to delete this one entirely. Thank you for your help.

  If you want to permanently delete your site, please follow this guide:

  Please read the warnings and advice before deleting a site, as we can’t revert a site deletion for any reason.

  If you want to hide your site instead, you can use the following guide to make your site private so only you and other members of the site can view it when logged in:

  Hello,

  I have tried several times to delete my site following your instructions but when I get to my site's settings page all it shows is sharing and polls as a choice. It doesn't show change Site Address of Start Over or Delete Site. Please, can someone delete this for me or any other help? This is driving me crazy.

  Are you in the “wp-admin” dashboard? “Delete Site” is found by clicking “Tools”. In the “My Site” dashboard you do indeed get to “Delete site” via “Settings”.

  But, note that in both cases you need to be the owner/admin of the site to delete it.

  Hello,

  Thanks for all your help. But the homepage is not even my stuff but it is my WordPress because It's got Larkinnews and my email. I will just use another hosting site. This is driving me crazy to try and delete.

  If you are referring to makingthebest.wordpress.com, you are only have a role of author on the site, and authors cannot delete sites. Only the owner/admin can. If you need to delete the site, you’ll need to contact the owner and have them do it.

  Hi there,

  I checked the account and you are not the owner of the site, you are an author on the site. There is a different username that is attached to the site – do you happen to have more than one WordPress.com accounts? If so, you’ll need to log into the other account in order to delete the site.

  Hello,

  I set this up in 2010 and if I used another email I don't have it anymore. But I know for a fact that I set the site up with all my information you required. I guess there is nothing I can do about it because I don't remember what email it was set up on and I only have one email now. Thanks for your help.
