I want to create a beta site before transferring the domain name

  I don’t want to transfer or remap our domain name until I am satisfied with a complete and ready-to-go site on WordPress.com. How can I do this?

  Hi there,

  When you create a site with us we automatically create a free WordPress.com address for you that’s yours for as long as you want it.

  So you can work on your site at that address, and only connect/transfer your domain until you’re ready.
