I want to delete my current website, but I want the domain to be available in the future

  After I delete my site, will my domain still be available in the future? How can I ensure this?

  Hi there,

  That is not possible. If you delete your site, the free WordPress.com address will be removed from our system, and it will not be available for re-use for you or anyone else again.

  If you don’t want your site to be online, but you want to be able to still use this address in future, instead set it to private at My Site ->Settings. That way no one but you will be able to access it, but it will still be there if you want to start using it again.
