I want to delete one of my sites

Hi There, I have two sites and only want to delete the one, they seem connected under the same username, so when I select the one I want to delete and go to tools and delete site, it says it will permanently delete it but mentions the other site as well. How do I delete only the one, without risking losing the other? The one I want to delete is the first one I created and I no longer use it.

You misunderstand what you are reading. Every site hosted by wordpress.COM is an independent site. What you do on one has no impact on any other site at all.
To delete a WordPress.COM hosted blog you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to navigate to Dashboard > Tools > Delete Site.

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them. Read http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
Alternatively, to change blog visibility to Private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3. See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings
