i want to move from wix to wordpress

  i have a website with a custom domain on wix that i’d like to move to wordpress. i tried looking up how to do it but i’m still unclear on all the steps, especially with transferring/extending the registration of the domain. can you walk me through what i need to do? (i understand that wix doesn’t export sites so i’ll have to rebuild it, which is fine.)
