I want to recover a deleted domain

How do I recover a deleted domain?
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Unknown -
It looks like you’ve canceled the domain name, meaning you no longer own it.
Please let us know which of these options works best for you:
Wait: You can wait about five days from cancellation for the domain to be released. So long as no one else buys it before you do, you can purchase it again with another provider.
Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice and restore the domain. You’ll be able to point it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.
Repurchase a Plan: To host your site here after all, buy a plan, skip the domain option, then update us here.

When you say “Repurchase a Plan” do you mean that I buy a plan WITH that domain?
I want wordpress to host my domain that I deleted. -
If you’d like to host your site here with a paid plan, please purchase the plan from https://wordpress.com/plans and skip the domain registration step.
Once that’s done, let us know, and we’ll recover the domain. :)

Okay, I have decided to Repurchase the Domain and host through another site. What do you need me to do in order for me to repurchase it?

Hi there,
If you want to register that domain through a different hosting provider, then you’ll have to wait about a week for it to be released. Then you’ll be able to register it again.

Hello there,
The original staff member who responded said they wasn’t the case, see above.
I think there’s some confusion happening here – when purchased through a different host, then the site would be a self-hosted WordPress site, which is different to hosting a site with WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/plans
It’s possible to restore the domain with WordPress.com, with the registration fee – but you wouldn’t be able to transfer the domain for the first 60 days.
It’s possible to use the domain with a different provider via custom DNS settings.
Please advise if you would like to restore the domain.
