I want widgets to show up on my posts but not on my pages.
-
I want widgets to show up on in the sidebar on my posts but not on my pages. Right now they only show up on the menu item I created for a post category, but not on the posts themselves. How do I change that? I can see the option to change the template for pages, but I can’t find it for posts.
Possibly relevant background information:
-I have a .com account
-I’m using the Twenty Eleven theme
-I have the default layout set as content on the left -
On every widget there a [Visibility] button at the bottom. Click on it and choose: [Show] if [Page] is [Post Page] .
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

Thanks for the reply. I had tried that on one widget to no avail. Instead, it takes it off ALL of my posts and pages for some reason. Now I went back and tried it on all 6 that I have and it still didn’t work, so it’s not just a problem with one widget. I deleted all of their visibility settings for now, so I’m back to where I was: the widgets are not on the pages (as I want), they are on when in the category “blog” in my menu item (as I want), but they’re not on each individual post (which I do want).

Sorry for the inconvenience. Your current theme doesn’t support the ability to have a sidebar on individual post pages. You might want to try a different theme, like http://themes.wordpress.com/themes/twenty-twelve
