I wanted to be smart with Categories and now they're gone

  Hello,

  I just wanted to re-organise my posts completely and did something incredibly stupid. The idea was to delete all my categories with year names, but instead I did this:
  1. I created Action, Drama, Thriller.
  2. I then changed my mind and deleted all my existing year name categories.
  3. I then wanted to re-create Action, Drama and Thriller, but WordPress says they already exist, even though they don’t show up in my cateogies at all.

  What do I do to get these three back?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there, I’ve looked at your site and it looks like all your posts have been assigned to the Uncategorized category. That’s a good sign that something’s been deleted.

  Since you also said that you tried readding the categories but you are getting a notice that “they already exist” I’ve also tagged this thread for Staff attention.

  Meanwhile, try logging out, clearing your browser cache and cookies and then logging back in and see if that doesn’t shake something loose.

  Let us know how that goes.
