I was charged for something called Domain Mapping by WordPress.com.
-
My domain is registered elsewhere and I don’t have a wordpress.com account anymore but I was charged $96.00 for ‘Domain mapping.’ I have a wordpress.org site custom built about to go up, but I don’t see the relationship here. This is coming from WordPress.com. Plus, apparently WordPress doesn’t like answering customer inquiries. I’ve been trying to figure out how they can charge my card when there isn’t on registered on WordPress.com as far I can see. Since they want only provide me with a public forum option as my customer support choice, I would like to ask you all if you can tell me what I have to do to stop WordPress from doing this unless for some reason, I have to to keep the domain on wordpress.org. I’m both confused and not very happy about what seems to be miserable customer support from the parent company. Please help me here. Thank you in advance for your kindness.

Howdy –
Looks like that charge must be from a different user account. The account you’ve used to contact us here has never made any purchases.
When the account was charged we sent an email notification. In that note, you should find the site involved. Share the site address with us here for further investigation.
Otherwise, you can visit https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/ and use the blue,
contact supportlink on the right hand side of the page. That will get you in touch with our billing team directly.
