  I do not want to use my account any more and wish it closed this instant

  Accounts cannot be deleted, but you can change the associated email to something you’ll never use again and simply walk away from the account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

  Do note that this will affect all sites associated with your username.

  Also, this does not delete a website. You will have to do that following these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/ Once deleted, a site can never be recovered nor the address used again, even by you.
